About Team SpringBoard
Team SpringBoard is a Social Enterprise supporting people with significant barriers to employment to develop practical and life skills to equip them to move into an apprenticeship, full time job or further training. We currently offer a commercial gardening and handy person service across Coventry and Warwickshire and offer employment, training and volunteering opportunities.
Position Description
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic person with a broad set of practical skills to lead a small team of young people to complete gardening and handy person type jobs for our customers in their home and garden. The role of Team SpringBoard is to support our young people to grow their confidence and become job ready and so it is critical that you enjoy working with young people and have the desire to pass on your skills and experience. You will be responsible for leading each job so must be able to assess what needs doing and ensure that it is completed to timescale and to an excellent quality.
When we are not completing customer work we might be working on the Team SpringBoard allotment or training the young people on a variety of DIY or technical skills. You will need a flexible approach – every day is different!
A good sense of humour is essential as is a clean, full UK driving licence. We complete DBS checks on all of our staff.
Required Skills/Experience
Salary
22.5 hours a week (Tuesday, Weds and Thursday 9am to 5pm), £7.50 per hour. Immediate start to October 2017 with possible extension.

Required Skills/Experience
- Experience of basic gardening jobs – mowing, edging, pruning, tiding and so on
- Experience of using petrol tools such as hedge trimmers, streamers and garden blowers (Occasionally we have to clear VERY overgrown gardens)
- Experience of basic DIY – putting up curtain poles and pictures, basic painting and decorating, fitting a toilet seat, moving furniture and so on
- Experience and confidence driving a transit sized van
- Experience of working with young people
- Good coaching skills
- Excellent problem solver
- This is a physically demanding role and a good level of physical fitness is required.
